History [edit | edit source]

The Tulalip Tribes is a federally-recognized Indian tribe located on the Tulalip Reservation. The reservation was created by the Treaty of Point Elliott of January 22, 1855 and was created equally a permanent home for the Snohomish, Snoqualmie, Skagit, Suiattle, Samish and Stillaguamish Tribes and allied bands living in the region.

Records [edit | edit source]

The majority of records of individuals were those created by the agencies. Some records may be available to tribal members through the tribal headquarters. They were (and are) the local role of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and were charged with maintaining records of the activities of those under their responsibility. Amid these records are:

  • Allocation records
  • Annuity rolls
  • Census records
  • Correspondence
  • Health records
  • Reports
  • Schoolhouse demography and records
  • Vital records
